Looking for Schoolman genealogy information

Wednesday, 01 November 2017 03:23

I haven't been working on the genealogy recently, because I hit a couple of dead ends on the 2-3 primary lines I've been working. It would be nice to expand the Schoolman line next.

If you run across this site and any of the Schoolman names look familiar, please drop me a line through the contact us link above. I'd like to know more.

New responsive layout

I've noticed that my search results on Google have been dropping, so I updated the site with a mobile responsive design. Hopefully, this will improve my score. I'll also try to keep the content on the home page a little fresher going forward.

New genealogy links!

Wednesday, 13 January 2010 23:11

After receiving a couple of requests for leads on Krabbenhoft genealogy information, I added some of the links that I have used to put this family tree together. I'll keep adding more as I find new information. For now, you can see the listing here:

I also ran across a very helpful site that I hadn't found before - www.gencircles.com. I have checked my tree with the information I found there, and so far, it matches up pretty well. I would highly recommend taking a look if you're stuck.

Family Crest?? UPDATED

Wednesday, 06 January 2010 21:40

coat_of_arms_of_schleswig-hUPDATED - After doing some additional research on Schleswig-Holstein, I'm just going to post the current coat of arms for the region. It makes the most sense, but in the future, I might put together a small history of the various coats of arms used over time.

So, my wife and I took the kids down to Wurstfest in New Braunfels back in November. We had a great time. I got my fill of sausage, but the beer gets more and more outrageously expensive every year ($6 per cup for the good stuff).

Any way, across from Landa Park is the activity center where a lot of vendors are set up selling their wares. Right in front of the door was a vendor selling family crests and other genealogical information on German families. For grins, I look in his book of names with information readily available. Krabbenhoft was listed, but I didn't feel like shelling out the cash.

So, now a couple months later, I'm starting to wonder if we have a family crest. I come from a long line of farmers, so I highly doubt it. But then, our crest could simply be the Schleiswig-Holstein crest. Hmm.

Drop me a line if you know for sure.

Done with genealogy for now

Wednesday, 27 May 2009 19:14
I'm pretty much done with the Krabbenhoft genealogy for now. There's still a lot to be done, but I need to focus on some other projects for the time being. So, if anyone has any additional information that they'd like to add, please drop me a line and I'll add it as I have time.
